Marks & Spencer opens Simply Food store at Moto's Reading West Service Area
19 November 2009
The 1,800 sq ft store is only the third motorway service area to bring the Marks & Spencer Simply Food offer to motorists and has created over 20 new jobs for the region. The new store will give motorway users the opportunity to stop off en route to pick up quality food products, including ready meals, fresh produce, sandwiches salads, snacks and fresh flowers.
Moto and Marks & Spencer launched the first Simply Food motorway store at Moto’s Toddington service area in August 2003 and as a result of Toddington’s success further stores have been opened at Moto's Reading West and Cherwell Valley Service Areas.
Brian Lotts, Moto's Managing Director, said: "We're constantly looking at ways to increase the choice available to motorists who use motorway service areas. As well as increasing variety, the Marks & Spencer Simply Food offering is the perfect solution for busy commuters who need to top up their weekly shop on their way home."
Paul Horwell, Simply Food Franchise Manager, said: "We are pleased to bring the successful Simply Food concept to Reading West. Feedback from motorists has been excellent since the Marks & Spencer Simply Food format was introduced to Toddington Service Area last year and we are sure that this will be echoed at Reading West and Cherwell Valley."
The new store will be open from 8am-10pm Sunday to Friday and 8am-8pm on Saturdays.
