Revealed! Moto's Road Stars
27 September 2004
The search for Moto's Road Stars of 2004 is finally over and we now know who the safest trucker, biker and car driver in Britain are.
The 18 finalists - six in each category - took part in tough tests of skills and knowledge at the Driving Standards Agency's training ground in Cardington, Bedfordshire, over the weekend.
Examiners from the Institute of Advanced Motorists put the competitors through off-road manoeuvrability tests and stringently checked abilities during a demanding 22-mile circuit of public roads.
At the end of it all, the Road Stars were revealed and are:
Safest Trucker: Phil Hough, of Belper, Derbyshire. Safest Biker: Loz Williams of Fagley, Bradford and Safest Car Driver: Graham Bowen, of Westhill, Aberdeen.
They were presented with their Road Star trophies and prizes by the BBC's Moto GP anchor Suzy Perry and Radio 2's traffic reporter, Lynn Bowles.
